This work is a representational piece which depicts a galaxy inspired by the images captured by the James Webb Space Telescope. The surface is highly textural and there is a slight variation of depth resulting in a sculptural relief feature. This work employs a process in which multiple pieces of oil painted panels are collaged together by gluing them edge to edge, often with strips of hardwood in between. The back of this work reveals this process by exposing the raw materials and bleeding glue. As a result, this duplicate image can be viewed as an entirely different piece in itself.
